I could almost feel the sand and heat while Job was suffering through his time of trials.

When God comes to visit I could almost sense the power. You brought the story world alive in your description, and now I'm convinced this is one I will have to read.

Wendy, you caught my interest. I'm always looking for titles for my book club to read. The Outside Boy is one I'll check out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6360410252358941163.post-1572332752754749782011-05-18T10:43:23.806-07:002011-05-18T10:43:23.806-07:00Currently, I am in Alberta, Canada. Reading "Joab's Fire" has transported me there.

The author, Lynn Squire, draws from her grandparents hardships settling there in the 1900's, and intertwines historical facts with biblical interpretation of the book of Job. *Bonnie already pointed out that Job was not Canadian. =)

This book is amazing in setting, because the author not only knows her Western Canadian history, but grew up in the town of Arrowhead, formerly Surbank (the town referenced in the book).

This is an Advanced Reader's Copy, which I am thankful to be a part of. The book releases in July.Yvonnehttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1434296811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6360410252358941163.post-31424909234517622482011-05-18T09:40:47.630-07:002011-05-18T09:40:47.630-07:00Oh my goodness, what an opening in Half Broke Hors...Oh my goodness, what an opening in Half Broke Horses. I can still see the kids in the tree in my head.

Ladies, I recently read The Outside Boy and fell in love with it. A young boy in a family of gypsies in Ireland.
